Location of teams of the
2019–20 FPL H2H League Cup group stage. Teams from Athens: Allouistes, Alcoholchester, Invincibles 2004, Adespotos B.C., Kvoth, Saint Barbarian and Thangor.
2020-21 is the fourth edition of the FPL H2H League Cup. The 10 teams from the top-flight Duel League are taking part.
There will be two groups consisting of 5 teams each. After single round-robin matches, the top 4 teams of each group will advance to the knockout stage. The quarter finals, semi-finals and final will be single elimination games.
The schedule will see the games spread along the premier league season of 2020–21. This means that the group stage matches will be held in gameweeks 2, 4, 7, 11 and 18. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final will be held in gameweeks 22, 25 and 28 respectively.
If in any given gameweek, there are less than 9 matches played in the premier league, then the matches of the 2020-21 League Cup will be postponed to the next gameweek.
All the chips will be taken into account in order to determine the score of a team at any given match.
In case of a tie, the following tiebreak criteria will apply (in the following order):
1. Number of points in the tournament among the tied teams.
2. Goal difference in the tournament among the tied teams.
3. Best offense in the tournament among the tied teams.
4. If it is a group-stage tie, goal difference against all teams of the group.
5. If it is a group-stage tie, best offence against all teams of the group.
6. Total points of the captains in the matches involving the tied teams (without taking into account triple-captain chip).
7. Total points of the captains in the matches involving the tied teams by taking into account any triple-captain chips which were played.
8. Total points of the vice-captains in the matches involving the tied teams.
9. Total points of the benches in the matches involving the tied teams (irrespectively of whether bench boost was played in any of these matches).
10. If it is a knockout game, best position in the group stage.
11. Best position in the league, following the completion of the gameweek when the tie must be resolved.
Group Stage[edit]
The ten teams will be allocated to two groups of five teams each. Group A will consist of the teams which, following Gameweek1, occupy the following positions in the FPL H2H Duel League: 1, 4, 5, 7, 10. Group B will consist of the teams occupying positions 2, 3, 6, 8, 9. The format of the group stage is a round-robin single match tournament.
The schedule will follow the standard round-robin schedule for 6 team groups. Each team will see one gameweek off, since the groups consist of an odd number of teams.
The top four teams of each group will advance to the knockout stage.
