2016-17 was the first edition of the FPL H2H League Cup. The ten teams from the top flight FPL H2H League took part.

The format was a group stage followed by knockouts, which consisted of semifinals and the final. The groups consisted of 5 teams each, with the top two teams advancing to the knockout stage.

The competition was won by Parallouistes (first title), after beating Adespotos B.C. in the final.

Group Stage[edit]

The ten teams were allocated randomly to two groups of 5 teams each. The format of the group stage was a round-robin single match tournament.

The top two teams of each group would advance to the knockout stage.

In the event of a tie, the following criteria would apply:
1. Points in the matches among tied teams.
2. Goal difference in the matches among the tied teams.

Group A[edit]

Adespotos B.C. ran away with the top spot in Group A by comprehensively beating all their opponents. The second place was claimed by Alcoholchester who only lost to top-placed Adespotos B.C..

Group B[edit]

Group B was more competitive than Group A. Parallouistes recovered from their first round defeat and with three straight wins managed to claim the top spot of the group. Atletico Muneiro were not scheduled to compete before round 2, but this did not prevent them to start with three wins and qualify with one round to spare. However, their loss against Parallouistes meant that they could only claim the second place.

Finals[edit]

The semifinals were both won with comfortable margins by the first-placed teams in the group stage.

The final match between [[Parallouistes] and Adespotos B.C. was relatively low scoring, but was won by Parallouistes, who claimed their first title with a score of 44-39.
